Emergency Support Requested

Please consider being a part of this effort and

Sara Mattoon’s husband, Scott Myrom was hit by a car while he was bicycling on December 13, 2007. He is currently functionally quadriplegic and that involves considerable care. Sara has been caring for him at home alone for a very long time now: 16-18 hrs/day everyday with no breaks during the day and no days off. She’s 64 years old and 105 lbs. On November 8th Sara had to put Scott in a facility because her body could not continue those long days.
This is a message from Sara:
“My body is seriously depleted from the unyielding schedule I have been under for too long. My adrenal glands are spent and some days I am barely functional. At this point, I am not physically able to bring in income and we don’t know how we’re going to pay mortgage and bills this month.”
Sara and Scott have not had any income since November 8th! Through the ordeals of the accident, medical care, home care, surgeries and recoveries, Scott has remained grateful, full of humor and peace, and is such a teacher to us all. Sara's unbending devotion and surrender to this challenging life adventure is also an inspiration. We can bring some prayer support and some financial energy through this fundraiser to this deserving pair of light-bearers.
17 talented musicians (click here to see the musicians) have each donated an uplifting, positive song as a gift to those willing to donate. Please consider helping Sara & Scott “buy some time,” even with a small amount. Sara has told me that she recently made the mortgage payment with $4 to spare, so even a $5 donation could make the difference between making the mortgage or not— not to mention the other normal expenses she has to meet. A small amount from many people can make a huge difference. [The Mortgage payment amount is needed in her account by the 14th of every month.]
If you feel inspired to pass this to those on your email list who would be open to helping too, please help spread the word…
Please note that your donation will go directly to Scott and Sara through a safe and secure payment processor. No personal information will be collected or shared with any third parties.
If you would prefer to donate with a check, click here to email Sara for details on how to send your check/cheque.
Note: Your information will not be stored, shared or retained in any way.

Joy Katzen-Guthrie - "Pivot Song"
Life is a continuous process of choosing to be happy. Shifting from sadness to happiness is something we do step by step. This song describes the way in which we immediately feel better when we consciously shift — or pivot — our perspective one step at a time, and writing it was for me a way of pivoting my own outlook from grief to joy.

Susan Hodge - "Colour of Faith"
In 2003, a song came as I was driving. The next night, a call came that no mother wants to receive--my 17-year old was critically ill. For 3 days, he was in a coma and I sat with him and sang this song. Many things contributed to his recovery, and I feel deeply this song played an important role. |
